I did do some research on Mjolnir.
The quick answer is no, he cannot lift it.
Actually, the full answer is more complex then that.
If the hammer judged him worthy, then yes, he'd be fully able to pick it up.
But only a handful of people outside of Thor have been judged worthy, so it's rare that it happens.
And if he intended to use Mjolnir to attack Thor, it would immediately judge him unworthy and well, he'd be forced to drop it.
The hammer isn't actually very heavy, it only becomes so as the result of magic or something.
And as a result, it defies the laws of physics, if the person trying to pick up has superhuman strength, it just increases it weight to beyond their strength limits.
Even the Hulk himself was incapable of picking up Mjolnir, so I don't fancy Superman's chances that much.
As to withstanding hits from Mjolnir, I'd put my money on Thor.
Superman may be strong, but even he can't resist the force that it would exert by lifting him off his feet.
Thor once fought a superhuman of similar strength level and when he hit him with Mjolnir, he sent the guy across the state!
There's only been one person Thor could not stop and that was the Juggernaut.
But that's a result of the Juggernaut's magical power, which will keep him moving forward despite whatever is in his way.
So again, the laws of physics are going out the window again.
