MOVING FROM 360 TO One

Postby BionicKoalaBoy » Sat Jul 30, 2016 3:56 pm

I'm finally getting round to making the step from Xbox 360 to XboxOne. I just want help clarifying what the real Pros and Cons are. The reason i'm changing is primarily the frustration of limited toybox creations. ie I build an epic racetrack, only to find the Xbox won't let me place vehicles! etc etc.

So I'm aware I will have larger toyboxes to play with, and there is a minor graphical improvement, but what else is there? I know i'll need the new software, will I also need a new portal? I know the figures and playset pieces will work, but i'm more interested in what I will lose? Will my game saves work cross platform? WIll there be any issues with my toybox saves? Will all the toys remain unlocked that as I have almost everything?

Also with the servers and cloud being in question, does anyone have any idea how long I have the cloud to be able to make the file transfers, or can I manually transfer with a USB or something?

I'm sure these questions have been asked in the past but i'm struggling to find all the info I need. Cheers guys. :D

Upgrading will be starting all over again, so you'll lose all progress.

The pros are what you listed, bigger toybox capacity and minor graphics upgrade. I think you need to upload your toyboxes and re download them but I'm not 100%.

You will need a new base to unfortunately (Xbox security). I made the upgrade in 2.0 and didn't regret it at all

ALL progress? would that mean losing all my unlocked and purchased toys? Also I have almost all the sidekicks and levelled up quite high through farming, would that be remembered through my Disney account? My Disney interactive linked account shows sidekick unlocks, and toys purchased. Is this data remembered online, and would it carry over when I linked my account on Xbox One?

You lose all progress as it will be a fresh game (none of your progress copies over unfortunately :()

All toys need to be repurchased so I'm guessing sidekicks would be the same. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

If only there was going to be a 4.0, as a new game would mean I wouldn't have to replay, and would be the perfect time to upgrade. I hate spark farmers as I think they're cheating, but I suppose I could do that to earn sparks to re-purchase quicker? I literally have almost everything, and over 100k sparks spare. A lot of toys are unlocked for completing things though aren't they. So doing this so late in the day is literally going to require hours and hours of replay to get all my toys, FEATS, achievements and unlocks back. This is looking less and less attractive the more I think about it. :(

Yea it's a lot of work at the end of the games online lifespan but remember you can still build etc for years to come so there's that to consider too. The only stats that carry over are your figures levels iirc

Of course the one thing that does carry over is the least important and easiest to get around - Because of spark farming. Oh well. All food for thought.

Official response from Disney:

Hello there Bionic,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us!

If you were to move from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, you will lose any progress you had in the game not including Character Levels. Your Toy Box unlocks, Play Set progress and other data of this caliber is saved directly to your console and cannot be transferred to Xbox One as they are two separate platforms.

Yes, you will also need to purchase a new Xbox One specific Base and either have a Disc or Digital Version of Disney Infinity 3.0 for that console as well. However, your Toy Boxes, if saved to the cloud, are associated with your Disney Infinity Account and would be able to be transferred over to the Xbox One. Your Disney Infinity Account saves these if they are uploaded.

If you have any more questions or concerns please let us know! We are happy to help.

Have a magical day,

So...

1. I'll need a new portal/base.
2. I'll need 3.0 software for XboxOne. and 2.0 too if I want to play Spidey/Avengers playsets again.
3. I will lose all progress and unlocked items, starting the game from scratch.
4. I won't be able to play 1.0 or their playsets.

BUT...
5. My figures will retain their levels.
6. I will have the ability to build larger toy boxes.
7. The game will appear mildly better graphically.
8. Possible faster load times?
9. And my toy box saves will remain in cloud for download. ( BUT editing of them will be limited until i've unlocked all the toys I originally used. Also the time constraint on cloud actually being available. )

Boy I picked a bad time to do this. :?

So i have just brought home my xbox one. Plugging in and setting up tomorrow with my son ( 9 ) -

I have Infinity 2.0 and the portal, Fifa 15, and Star wars Battlefront. ( 3.0 on mail order )

Already sad about the games that aren't backwards compatible ( Old-school mostly ). Will have to keep the 360 in another room.
