Is 2.0 worth it?

Postby VampLena » Sun Sep 13, 2015 2:29 pm

So I'm really loving infinity 3 and it's made me curious about the older play sets, but I've heard a lot of bad things about 2.0 and how it's best to wait for real good sales on it.

So I'm curious what's the real story with 2.0? Is it worth getting for play sets? And at what price do you think it's worth?

I started with 1.0 and launch and 2.0 at launch. I feel they all are worth it in their own way. Honestly if you got the cash get it all. However the 2.0 playsets are the weakest of the 14 playsets that have been released/announced. If you love Marvel then worth it for the expansion games. 2.0 is the only release with a tower defence expansion game.

If your interested in the toybox then don't bother going back a version.

But here the biggest incentive to own the previous playsets, in 3.0 it will unlock everything associates with the playset. This including the 4 expansion games. And hey more figures!

I would look for it new or complete because 2.0 comes with 2 expansion games and a full poster.

If you get it for the right price it's worth it for the figures alone, I liked the playsets, had no issues with them

Playsets were fine, just totally uninspired. I was watching TV while playing because they were so meh.

They weren't bad, they were just not great.

Guardians of the Galaxy is actually a pretty fun though, as were the swinging missions with Spider-man/Venom.

I'd say why not? You can price match it for 20$ on any console and some figures like Star-Lord, Iron Man and Spidey are pretty awesome.

I picked up a 2.0 Toy Box Starter pack for $9.99 at Target over the summer.

Just keep your eye on sales and you should be able to score a pretty good deal...

VampLens: To price match it for 20$ (if you haven't bought it already), just go to your local Best Buy and show them one of these amazon listings:

- Toy Box Edition, with Merida and Stitch, which is 20.57$ on PS4 right now

- Marvel Starter Pack, with Iron Man, Thor and Black Widow, which is currently 32$ on PS4

If 1.0 works on you console then I would buy that. Pirates of the Caribbean alone is worth the discounted price.
