Is it worth it to go back to 1.0?

Postby KnightDriver » Tue Aug 18, 2015 8:26 am

I missed out on DI 1.0 and didn't start until I bought the 2.0 Marvel starter for my PS3. But I was having "system resource" issues in the toy boxes I created, so I bought a PS4 and traded my PS3 software at Gamestop for a PS4 version and sold my PS3. I found out just before 3.0 was announced that there never was a 1.0 version for the PS4 or XBoxOne, so I can't go back and play Monsters, Pirates, Incredibles, Toy Story, Cars or Lone Ranger. I feel like I missed out on some good stuff! So my question is, for those that have played both 1.0 and 2.0, is it worth my time to buy a cheap PS3 and pick up the 1.0 stuff? I already have the crystal figures, since Toys R' Us had a sale on them. But the only 1.0 figure I have is Sorcerer Mickey.

I'm having a hard time justifying going back to 1.0 when I just preordered 3.0. I'm thinking even if I do go back, it will be after I play through 3.0. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
KD

It's not worth buying a whole PS3 again for. Just wait for 3.0. The unlocks in the game will be automatically opened if you have the playset pieces. Unless you have the money then yeah get a ps3 and do 1 (then get kingdom hearts)

The 1.0 play sets are amongst the best so far. It's like getting a band's first album - full of classic tracks that took years to create. 2.0 was "the difficult second album" with a few good tracks, and a fair bit of filler to meet the deadline. 3.0 will be then hitting their stride and really rocking.

If you already played through your PS3 games (not Infinity), you most likely don't want to get another PS3. Why not try the Wii U instead. It is current, new games are coming to it, and it has Infinity 1.0. Not being a fanboy here, just offering a current option that plays IN 1.0. You will be able to try some of the AAA Nintendo titles too!

I can second @Goofyboy and recommend if you are buying a console to specifically play 1.0 then Wii U is a great choice. I believe 1.0 is still free from the eShop so it has you covered there and the base you have on PS4 will work with the Wii U. Seems like a great fit.

Still need to buy the starter to get the playsets, Sully, Mr Incredible and Jack don't you? Really is a question, no clue if you can get them other than 2nd hand.

We have them in Australia for under $30. Play sets a little harder to come by though. May have luck on eBay.

You can buy the playsets used from Gamestop, 2nd and Charles, etc...
