Compass not coming back

I have noticed on a few missions in Incredibles and now in Toy story that the compass for a mission won't always come back. It will show you your targets as it should when you first get it, but if you take another mission before you finish and then come back to it, you re-select the "show me" on that mission the compass doesn't actually come back on. It made it wicked hard to find all the little people traps in Incredibles. Now I have to bring the stupid tourist/photographer alien to some other place he wants to go but it won't show me anymore. I didn't have the booster pack yet when I originally took the mission so I couldn't get him up where I think it was he was supposed to go. Now I take him to where I remember it and it doesn't do anything so I must be wrong. Has anyone had this issue and found a resolution?
