Battleground playset question

With this new playset, is it possible to play like in smash bros which is just you against the computer, or do you absolutely have to play against other people on your couch? I ask because I don't have anyone to play with, and if I can't play against a computer then there's no reason to get this playset. Thanks.

yes, you can play against ai and there is also a story/campaign mode

do the marvel characters stay unlocked on the selection screen or do i have to put them all back onto the portal every time we fight?

They stay unlocked in the vs. mode. There is a nice character select screen and allows for 6 power discs (3 in each slot) I think you have to keep the figures on the base for both the challenges and story mode.

Sad to see there aren't any new enemies to unlock with the play set. I understand since you're battling each other, still I love getting play sets for the new enemies. I hope they patch some new ones in.

Me too. I don't think there's anything wrong, that's just how they made it.

They stay unlocked on my PS4 version.
