The Mine — feedback wanted

Postby Plumb » Sun Mar 29, 2015 11:07 pm

EDIT: here it is - https://infinity.disney.com/en-gb/toybo ... de10648f66

So, big moment for me. This will be the first time I've shared anything with the community.

I've been working on The Mine for a few weeks. It's my first properly designed toy box, and I've used it to explore a bunch of ideas. It's a big environment, with limited creativitoys added for now, with the exception of the main game mechanic which is a simple Kyln key collection example, which opens a door in the map once you have all 10.

It really is only a proof of concept right now. I've enjoyed building it and it's been great as a pure exploratory piece, so I'm happy however the feedback turned out. But assuming there's value in it, I've got the next bunch of ideas in my head as to how I'll add dept to THIS level, as well as when the next level might be. It's certainly turn that it's rough around the edges; I've not hidden any of the creativitoys either, so it's all a bit raw.

I have it shared for DI friends (I have none currently), so do I need to friend people first, or can you - assuming you're interested in trying it - friend me and jump straight in? My DI screen name is PurpleCrazyHorse, long story…

I'm a designer by trade, so I'm used to constructive criticism, so please do pull it apart!

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Unfortunately I'm on Wii U, so I can't even see your toyboxes, but if you've submitted it, I'll keep on eye out for it to give it a try too.

friends of yours on PS3 will see it straight away. other platforms will only see it if you share it to community content and it is approved.

Will do. Assuming it's accepted, how long do they typically take to appear?

And here it is - https://infinity.disney.com/en-gb/toybo ... de10648f66

So there's a couple of known things in there. First is that I've only defined a starting point for player 1 and so as soon as you put more in, they all start from the challenge maker, which is hidden away under the terrain. You live and learn!

The second thing is that there seams to be this odd glitch happening where WAY MORE enemies are being generated by the enemy wave generators. I haven't gotten to the bottom of it yet, but any insights you might be able to offer will be gratefully received.
