Yes, there's split screen in play sets. But you need two figures from the same franchise.

I really hope that the co-op online for Play Sets OR Toy Box involves being an Xbox Gold member.....

^ I'm not quite sure what you are saying here as every game that involves online on the Xbox requires the user to be an Xbox Gold member.

^ One player will be the host, meaning that every player that plays in that game will be playing the progress of the host player.
